The fabrication of the works begins with mixtures of super saturated salt solution and ultra iridescence water colour inks, which as it dries changes from liquid to a crystalline state. The patterns are created through extremely precise reactions between, combinations of pigment compositions, salt levels, paper weight, form, temperature and evaporation. Once dried, the artwork will continue to ebb and flow in colour and form, based on specific atmospheric conditions. This decision by the viewer of where to install the works, gives the possibility of allowing the viewers perception to develop with the work over time. Adjusting, closing and opening, this process allows us to view more closely, our own process of how we see and perceive our environment on a day to day basis.
